MK Dons draw Charlton away in next stage of Papa John’s Trophy
MK Dons will face fellow League One side Charlton Athletic in the next stage of the Papa John’s Trophy.
The Dons will make the trip to London to take on the Addicks at The Valley in the week beginning January 3rd, with the specific date and time to be announced in due course.
It is a second successive visit to London for the Dons in the competition, having advanced to the second knockout round with a penalty shootout win against Leyton Orient.
Charlton’s route in the competition so far saw them finish second behind Leyton Orient in a group that also contained the Southampton academy team and Crawley Town.
The side from South London then defeated the Aston Villa junior team in the first knockout round, seeing off a team that had won all 3 games in a group featuring MK Dons.
MK Dons have already faced Charlton Athletic once in League One so far this season. The two teams met at stadium mk in August for the third game of the league season, with the Dons coming from behind to win the match 2-1. This was Liam Manning’s first win after taking over at MK Dons.
