Luton Town ended a four match winless run with a 3-0 victory over Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.

Nathan Jones’ side hadn’t won a Championship fixture since beating Middlesbrough in early November, but Sonny Bradley, Elijah Adebayo and Jordan Clark did the honours in the North West.

Victory on a wet and windy day on the Lancashire coast saw Luton jump above Blackpool in the Championship table and into the top half.

Five changes were made to the Luton starting line-up after a home loss to Cardiff, but the reshuffled pack nearly conceded early on, as James Shea denied Owen Dale.

Luton began to offer more. Adebayo saw a header denied by home goalkeeper Chris Maxwell, before the ex-Walsall striker saw another effort hit the side netting.

Blackpool then had a chance to take the lead themselves, as Shea kept out Reece James before Demetri Mitchell’s follow-up deflected onto the post.

Shea then also denied tries from Ryan Wintle and Dale, and Luton would make the most of their goalkeeper’s blockades by taking the lead.

Maxwell made a save from James Bree’s free-kick, and from the consequent corner, Bradley met the delivery and headed into the back of the net.

Luton would then double their lead within 8 minutes of the restart, as Clark picked out Adebayo, who duly headed in for 2-0.

Shea was forced into a few saves to maintain the score at 2-0, and the away side would duly add some gloss in added time.

Substitute Admiral Muskwe broke free of the home defence before teeing up Clark, who thumped in a third goal for the home side.

It was enough for Luton to register three points, which was their first away since winning at Millwall in mid-October.
