Northampton Town have confirmed the signing of defender Tyler Magloire from Blackburn Rovers on loan.

The 23-year-old will move to Sixfields on loan for the remainder of the current season. He is the second arrival of the window for Jon Brady’s side, following the signing of Cardiff’s Chanka Zimba on loan for the rest of the campaign.

Magloire is a graduate of the Blackburn academy, and has made five appearances for Rovers’ first team so far this season.

Before moving to Northampton, Magloire has previously spent time out on loan with Motherwell, Hartlepool and Rochdale.

Cobblers boss Jon Brady told the club’s official website that they were pleased to beat a number of other teams to bring him to the club.

He said, “Tyler is a centre back who has a decent range of experience under his belt and is someone we have been tracking closely for some time.

“He has played in the Championship, SPL, National League and League 1 over the last few seasons and we think he can come in and help the squad.

“He will give us the option of changing systems if we want to, he will provide competition to the other centre backs, he will add depth to the squad and he has the attributes we are looking for.

“He has plenty of pace, he is very mobile for a centre back and we are looking forward to welcoming Tyler to the club.

“He has had some other interest in him, including a club in League 1 who were very keen to sign him so we are pleased he is coming to Northampton Town.”
