Stage times and road closures have been announced ahead of My Chemical Romance’s 3 concerts in Milton Keynes next week.

The American rock band, who released a new song called The Foundations of Decay today (13/05), will play 3 concerts at stadium mk on May 19th, 21st and 22nd as part of their first major world tour since 2011.

At the 3 shows, My Chemical Romance will play a 90 minute headline set, running 8:55pm to 10:25pm. Support act Placebo, who will perform at all 3 shows, will have a hour long set running between 7:25pm and 7:55pm.

Each show will have 4 support acts, with 2 unique acts playing before Placebo and My Chemical Romance. At all of these shows, the first act will start at 5:30 and play until 5:55, with a following act playing a 6:20-6:55 slot.

Lost Alone and Witch Fever will support the first show, Barns Courtney and Casseyette will play at the second date, and the final show will be opened by Starcrawler and Charlotte Sands.

For motorists, road closures will be in effect around the stadium for the three days concerts will be held.

On the three show days, road closures will be in place covering two roads that go either side of stadium mk. Closures are in place on the V7 Saxon Street in both directions between Denbigh Roundabout and Groveway, and also on the V6 Grafton Street between Redmoor roundabout and Granby roundabout.

Further advice has also been advised for motorists to be aware of increased traffic on the A5 in areas near the stadium on the show days.

For public transport options, a shuttle bus service will be in operation connecting the city centre and Milton Keynes Central train station to the stadium. There will also be a “Park and Stride” service, where people can park their car at the National Bowl music venue then walk to stadium mk for the show.

My Chemical Romance previously announced their trio of Milton Keynes dates in 2019 with intent to hold them in June 2020, though the shows have been rescheduled twice due to the coronavirus pandemic.

After going on hiatus in 2013 following the tour for their 4th studio album Danger Days, My Chemical Romance officially announced their reunion in 2019, though they had secretly reunited in 2017. Their first concert in seven years took place in December 2019 in Los Angeles, with plans announced for tours, though after covid-induced delays, their first show since 2019 is due to take place at the Eden Project in Cornwall on Tuesday (16/05).

After the shows in Cornwall and Milton Keynes, the band are due to play shows in Ireland, before further UK dates in Warrington, Cardiff and Glasgow. This will be followed by concerts in mainland Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand for the rest of 2022.

New song The Foundations of Decay, which was released earlier this week, is the band’s first new music officially released since 2014.

Some tickets remain available for all Milton Keynes shows through official vendors.
