Luton Town’s friendly at Peterborough United has been rescheduled amid the UK’s ongoing heatwave.

The Hatters had been scheduled to make the trip to Peterborough’s Weston Homes Stadium tonight (19/07) as one of their final pre-season friendlies ahead of the new EFL season.

But with Tuesday seeing the UK hit by an intense heatwave, and the area around Peterborough one of the worst affected, Luton’s game will be shifted back by 24 hours to Wednesday night instead, with the weather for tomorrow evening scheduled to be less strong.

In a statement confirming the news yesterday (18/07), Luton said, “Our pre-season friendly against Peterborough United will now take place on Wednesday 20th July, 7:45pm kick-off.

“The match orginally supposed to take place on Tuesday evening has been pushed back 24 hours due to the extreme heat.

“All tickets brought for the fixture WILL remain valid.

“Any supporters who have purchased tickets that cannot attend the fixture on Wednesday should contact the Luton Ticket Office from 10am today.

“Tickets will remain on sale until 12pm on Wednesday and Season Card holders can still take advantage of the price save in advance of the game.”
