Northampton’s match at Charlton postponed due to international call-ups
Northampton Town’s trip to Charlton Athletic later this month has been postponed due to international call-ups.
The Cobblers had been scheduled to visit the South London-based Addicks on Saturday November 18th for a 3pm kick-off.
But after Charlton received notification of three players being called up for the concurrent international matches, the Addicks had a postponement request granted by the EFL.
The game will now take place on a later date, to be determined and announced in due course.
Northampton have advised fans to keep hold of their tickets in preparation of the new date. The Cobblers advised, “No new date for the game has yet been arranged, but supporters who purchased tickets for the game are asked to please keep them safe.
“Any tickets purchased for the original game will be valid for the re-arranged date, while, when a new date is known, any supporters who are unable to make that date will be able to claim a refund.”
The game is the third time this season that Northampton have had a game rescheduled due to their opponents’ international call-ups.
Northampton had been due to visit Derby during the September international weekend and then host Portsmouth during October’s international break, but both games had to be rescheduled.
While the Derby game was played earlier this week, a new date is still yet to be announced for the home match against current League One leaders Pompey.
